Echo Labs is taking part in the creation of two urban tables made from reclaimed wood, designed to remain in the neighbourhoods and become everyday hubs for meeting, collaboration and active citizenship.
The first one will take shape in Piazza Copernico, in the Pigneto district, during the Open House Roma 2026 weekend on 23 and 24 May. The second will be built at Parco delle Stelle, in the San Lorenzo district, on 13 June, through a participatory workshop involving associations, citizens and institutions.
The initiative stems from the collaboration between AMKA, SonoFrankie and Echo Labs: three organisations with different areas of expertise and a shared purpose, turning recovered materials into tangible tools for participation, education and urban regeneration.
These tables are more than public furniture. They are urban devices designed to encourage the collective use of space, host educational and creative activities, support local networks and strengthen communities’ sense of belonging. The project also reflects the goals of the 2030 Agenda: a visible commitment to sustainability, inclusion, participation and shared care for urban spaces.
