Even logistics needs spaces where people can meet

Logistics hubs are places of constant movement, organisation and day-to-day operations. Alongside the areas dedicated to goods handling and professional activities, spaces designed for people can also make a real difference to the quality of the working environment.

This idea led to the collaboration between Echo Labs and Mileway, a European company specialising in the management of last-mile logistics real estate.

The project focused on revitalising an area within Mezzago Park with picnic tables, seating and a small shelter that provides shade and invites people to take a break.

Simple elements, designed to open up new ways of using the space and create opportunities to meet and connect.

From recovering materials to enhancing spaces

Echo Labs brought to the project its experience in designing resource-conscious furniture solutions, the craftsmanship of its woodworking workshop and its sensitivity in designing and redeveloping shared spaces.

Materials from the logistics supply chain thus go back to creating value in a space dedicated to the very activity they came from.
