For five editions, Echo Labs has brought ideas and creativity to ROM-E, turning Villa Borghese Park into a meeting place where people can engage with sustainability. Over the years, this journey has combined education, design and concrete action, involving children, students and adults in creative activities.
In 2023, we introduced new experiences and collaborations with partners such as Linaria and Laboratorio Linfa. Biodiversity and eco-design became central themes, engaging people of all ages through more interactive and in-depth activities.
The 2024 edition focused on the future, exploring topics such as design and urban regeneration. Participants were encouraged to imagine sustainable solutions capable of combining creativity with respect for the environment.
In 2025, Echo Labs returned to ROM-E with its open-air carpentry workshop, offering an upcycling experience surrounded by greenery. Through reclaimed wood, craftsmanship and shared creativity, children and adults transformed discarded materials into unique objects, rediscovering the value of making things together and experiencing sustainability first-hand.
In 2026, the experience continued, further strengthening the participatory nature of the workshops and the dialogue with the public. Working with reclaimed wood once again provided a direct and accessible way to introduce people of different ages to the principles of the circular economy, showing how previously used materials can take on a new purpose and a new story.
