Festival Dei Due Mondi

Our activities

In 2023 and 2024, Echo Labs took part in the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, offering engaging activities and initiatives designed to promote responsible consumption and raise public awareness about the key themes of the 2030 Agenda. Our workshops were created to actively involve the community, inspiring more conscious and environmentally respectful behaviors.

In 2023, our social woodworking lab hosted practical, hands-on workshops focused on transforming reclaimed materials into benches, urban gardens, and artistic installations. Highlights included a collaboration with the Cooperativa Fattoria Sociale di Spoleto to build a raised garden bed, and the involvement of children and parents from the Beroide elementary school, reopened after the 2016 earthquake, in creating outdoor classroom furniture.
In 2024, we continued this commitment by engaging even more people and associations in creative workshops and activities. Through these projects, we strengthened our social network and promoted sustainability with inclusive initiatives, creating a space for community participation and collaboration.

Taking part in the Festival dei Due Mondi is a special opportunity for us to connect art, sustainability, and community—raising awareness and inspiring tangible actions for a more inclusive and sustainable future.

SOPRA LA PANCA

In this workshop, participants explored the theme of seating and wooden furniture production. They learned how to build benches, deck chairs, and dining chairs using reclaimed materials.

FACCIO L'ORTO E ME LO PORTO

This activity allowed participants to create a small garden to take home. The aim was to reconnect with the earth and better understand the life cycle of materials—highlighting the importance of bringing nature back into urban spaces.

CARATTERI CUBITALI

Participants carved pallet blocks into signs, symbols, and letters. This collective activity led to the creation of an installation where individual contributions came together to form words and phrases inspired by ecology and social inclusion.

IL TRIANGOLO NO!

Scrap wood was reused to create unconventional triangular shapes, inspired by Fuller’s architectural vision. The main goal was to build modular components for geodesic structures, encouraging team challenges to test which textures were the most inclusive and efficient.

ECO AVATAR

Participants were invited to turn imaginary creatures, monsters, and fantasy characters into wooden toys! Guided by tutors, young artisans experienced every stage of the process—from design and material selection to prototype building and final finishing with wax.
