Electrolux

The partnership between Electrolux and Echo Labs was born under the banner of sustainability. It all began with Electrolux’s idea to redevelop a break area in the warehouse at the Forlì logistics hub, with the goal of creating a functional and eco-sustainable space where staff and indirect collaborators can enjoy moments of rest and social interaction.

Design and development

We approached this design challenge by using recycled materials to help reduce CO₂ emissions. The project also provided an opportunity to support artisan workshops in the fields of design and carpentry, promoting green solutions. As part of this initiative, the break room was furnished with stools, recycling bins, and a mobile bench. To create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the original aluminum and glass walls were clad in wood, striking a balance between aesthetics and functionality.
A feature wall was installed inside the room, equipped with shelving and showcasing the Electrolux logo—crafted in a combination of wood and mirror for a high-definition effect. This was achieved using the marquetry technique, which repurposes small wood pieces and allows for greater precision in the final result.

Project execution

During the execution phase, several objects were given a new life through the creativity of our carpenters. A driving simulator platform was transformed into a mobile bench, crates once used for transporting artworks were repurposed into shelves and stools, and wooden planks from pallets were used to furnish and set up the entire area.
