[Bruxelles 21.06.23] Thanks to its industrial symbiosis project, which gives new life to packaging from the logistics supply chain through sustainable and inclusive practices, Echo Labs was selected among the 61 finalists of the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2023, the award that honors the best ideas connecting sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion.
Out of a total of 1,450 submitted projects, Echo Labs ranked among the top entries in the “CHAMPIONS” strand, dedicated to existing and completed initiatives that have delivered clear and positive results.
The thematic category in which Echo Labs stood out focuses on projects that contribute to transforming industrial ecosystems toward more sustainable practices, in a spirit of circularity. These projects promote new economic models, particularly in the fields of the social and proximity economy and impact investment.
«We are proud to have taken part in this prestigious competition, which recognizes the commitment of Echo Labs and FERCAM’s strategic choice to grow in line with a socially responsible economic development model», says Bettina Baumgartner, Innovation Manager at FERCAM and Board Member of Echo Labs. «The creation of this social enterprise provided the opportunity to implement an innovative and concrete industrial symbiosis project within the logistics sector—now acknowledged and awarded by the European Union as a valuable example for driving the sustainable and inclusive transformation of our societies».
«Being among the finalists of the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2023 is a significant recognition for our young social enterprise», adds Dino Menichetti, President of Echo Labs. «We are encouraged by this acknowledgment and ready to step up our efforts to make our model scalable and more widespread, fully aligned with the main goal of the initiative: to contribute to the transformation of industrial ecosystems through sustainable practices, circularity, and social inclusion, promoting new economic models», concludes Menichetti.
